Before, the 6er would have been clearly the ugliest of the trio, but now the SL is giving it a good run for the money. Anyway 997S hands down for me.

Give me the SL. Any day, all day. For me, that porsche design is starting to feel like its on its golden anniversary or something. It's been pretty much the same for so long now starting to bore me now. On a side note, dunno if i've ever seen any pic of the 6 series that has ever stirred me. IMHO it's almost like it was styled to look bad, no offense. I think that the 6er, Z4 and X3 have to rank as Mr Bangle's more 'challenging' designs, ahem. But that's just my POV.

I'm almost a tiny bit suprised the petrol V6 has more torque than the bi-turbo diesel, and is actually faster

if you are talking about the bimmer then its my fault. Its a 630i petrol engine and not a diesel. Sorry for the confusion.

That explains it. Iknow the 35d generates about 272hp but i'd expect it to have more torque than that.

yes you can get diesel 35d, but with 286hp and 580nm

I think BMW have decided not to dilute the upper models by offering the same engine across the range. The next 6er will get it's own new turbo 6 I would dare say. Proberly an upgraded verision of the current inline 6 twin turbo.

Ye i'm aware you can get the 35d but was wondering about 35i since they tested the 6er using the 3.0. And i was sure the turbo diesel had higher torque numbers so thanks for clearifying for me

Ok. Could very well be but is there any confirmation of that. And is there OFFICIALLY no 635i?
