Driver: Walther Röhrl
Track: Hockenheim

GT3 - the champ see red: Walter Röhrls personal favorite is 911 GT3.

GT2 - Caution is required only with switched off ESP. Otherwise the GT2 is very good-natured.

Turbo - Fast, dynamically, reliably: The turbo is the Elfer with net and double soil.

--------------

Winner: GT3 - "For me the GT3 is the super 911. Everything fits perfectly, sound , handling. This is a pure Porsche. It doesnt have Turbos but is more agile, turn in better and feels more direct. Comfort isnt bad either".

^^Agree..Nothing surpasses the GT3. Only the GT3 RS...
Easy choice, no doubt here. It is the best sportcar on the market today. A masterpiece.

Noise, handling, look, racing pedigree, manual gearbox, high-revving, N/A... Everything is perfect.

GT3. I will have to own a GT3 at some point.

All 997 models should have the same tail pipe configuration as the GT3. Just look at it!

But you know what. GT2 has more torque and since and you will feel the power in the seat much better than in a GT3 , I think the Gt2 suit you better.

Nope. The noise of the GT3 is so much better...
And I love high-revving, more than big torque, the screaming metallic noise of an engine at 8,000rpm is the best thing a car can offer. Redzone at 6500rpm, no thanks. Not in a sporty Porsche. If I take a Porsche GTx, I want it to be as sporty as a race car, so F1 noise and high-revving.

Its kinda funny that my babybimmer redline at 7000 rpm. 500 rpm more than a Porsche and 200 rpm less than a C63 My car only miss another extra 200 hp

Re: The best? Porsche Turbo/GT3/GT2 - 02-05-2008, 06:30 AM

Yep. 7,000rpm is pretty good for such a motor! A Porsche that revs slower than a 1-Series... Slower than a big, torquey AMG sedan... Barely higher than my diesel Golf (errhhh well, this is maybe a bit exagerated )...

In fact, even if I am a Porsche fan, the Turbo (and thus, the GT2) hugely diesappointed me. The redzone comes waaay too soon, and the noise is not as thrilling as it should.

I also don't like the look of the Turbo. I think the wheels are too heavy, too big, and the car appears too short and with a too big front overhang. The front bumper is too complex, too... I prefer the look of a standard Carrera S, looks absolutely gorgeous.

The GT2 looks very good, but the GT3 is just...even better. Less complicated.
The 997 GT3 (RS) is the best car on the market today, and one of the best cars ever made.

As an overall 911, I haven't any doubt that the GT3 is the best. Not only because it's well-balanced and well-controlled, but because it's offers a an exciting driving experience that is nearly unmatched.

That being said, my personal choice is the GT2 because it's just that bit more blunt than the others in this comparison. Happens to look pretty spiffy too.

That says it all. The GT3 is one of the most balanced sports cars on the market. Not too much power, not to little, weight is good, engine is great and the handling is godlike.
