Not really, with the dollar sucking major balls, these cars are going to get expensive very soon. Not to mention, I can't buy nice cars on minimum wage, LOL.

At least the gasprice in US is much better than in Sweden. Sweden is one of the countries in Europe with highest gasprices. Buying SUV would be stupid here

I agree. It's a good car but isn't have any deal breaking attributes, the price is one of the biggest turn offs.

its the best deal you get from BMW if you look for a fun performance car.

The price for 135i with Advantage/dynamic/M-package you pay 392000 swedish kronor. If you want a 335i with Advantage/dynamic/M-package then you have to pay 482000 swedish kronor and then you wont get these 6-piston Brembo brakes and the new electronic diff that you find in 135i. Thats a large price difference.
135i is without no doubt the best performance car from BMW money can buy. So saying price is big turn off is wrong. If you read the article you understand that this is one great car, no one said it was going to be a Porsche killer if thats what people expected. Like the article stated, 135i proves its point.

Yeah, performance in a straight line. The reviews have been positive but the car hasn't been claimed to be Super. I just think that the some of you guys from the BMW crowd are overrating it a bit. Save the praising for the coming hardcore version of the 135.

In terms of fun and enjoyment I doubt it can touch the Z4. But it's a good compromise for someone who find the Z4 to be impractical and the E92 to be a bit clumsy. It could have been sssssssssssssssslightly less expensive though. I had no idea that it has Brembo brakes though.

Re: Autocar: BMW 135i vs 350Z vs S3 vs Cayman

I think price is one of the best thing about this car. I can't think of another European 300HP $35000 car available in the US. I mean if this car is bad value for the performance it offers what does that make the Z4 3.0 and TT?
And don't forget the tuning potential.

I bet it turns better than 335i as well. If its not fun, well, then other bimmers are boring too.
I simply don't agree that price is "big turn off" as you wrote above.
If the 135tii become a reality its going to steal the thunder from the M3. I hope bmw will offer a cheaper 4-cylinder turboengine and a 6-cylinder turboengine called Tii in the end .

I have never claimed that it's not a fun car to drive. The point in trying to get across is that it isn't a small light and perfect playful car crafted by God which is the image projected by some on this board. That is the reason why it has been beaten by sport and performance orientated cars like the Cayman and TT in some comparisons. Like stated in this article it's very good all-rounder, it just doesn't handle or steer like the thoroughbred sports cars Z4, TT and Boxster.
