The CLS got screwed big time, that M5 phenomenal gearbox makes achieve impressive 0-200km/h time,i can't wait for AMG's and M's new transmissions.

Hmmm, so M5 is faster in a straight line, way faster around a track, better fuel consumption and 12000 euros cheaper. Talk bout superior technology!

Re: Sportauto: M5 vs CLS63

M5 is kick ass.. to me the CLS is now in the category of old AMG formula..
where they didnt pay so much attention to things..
starting with the CLK BS and C63 they seem more focused..
so next time around i hope they close the gap to near nothing..like the C63 vs M3 case..

I guess so too. Todays C63 right up there and I think the new CSL will be a good match to the CLK BS...

Don't forget the "other factors" that are decisive here:

-Weight
-Gear Ratios
-Driver
-Tires
-Weather conditions

etc.

Driver and Weather conditions can we exclude since is same driver and a head to head comparison. Tires, neither of them were tested with R-tires. So its only two explanations left

LoL Caw, trust me the car isnt fuel efficient. The fuel tank is zu klein so you have to stop a lot to fill up with gas. In city traffic the car is thirsty as hell.
