Autozeitung: Porsche 997 GT2 vs Corvette Z06

Z06 / GT2
Price: 86.150 euro / 189.496 euro
0-100km/h: 4.4 sec / 3.9 sec

verdict:

both are real sports cars, the Porsche to the extreme offering the best handling, better performance as you can see by the speeds achieved at the handling track and race track, it beats the Z06 easily also due to the semi-slicks that come as standard. Compared to the GT2 the Z06 is a bargain as it costs 100k less than the Porsche whcih also can be regarded as collector´s item as it will stay at that high price even as pre-owned car but not the Corvette.

Re: 997 GT2 vs Z06

So, not only does 100,000 Euros buy you a faster car but you also get interior quality that's light years better.

The Corvette is the sassier, sexier looker of the two but its interior is worse than a Tata's. Look how badly it's aging - not to mention the levels of wear and tear together with plastic bits that look as if they're falling apart.

Granted this is some press-car tester but even so...

Re: Autozeitung: Porsche 997 GT2 vs Corvette Z06

The difference is no that big considering that the GT2 uses new developed semi-slicks and the Vette uses run-flat tires.

Also there are things that the Corvette can do but the GT2 can't

Erm, ok...

I tell you what, if either of us can afford a GT2 then I think we'll also have a nice Rangie Sport* to put the ol' Mongoose in.

Or other suitably capable mud-plugger of your choice...

Re: Autozeitung: Porsche 997 GT2 vs Corvette Z06

Auto Zeitung tested the Superleggera and it did 1:33,6 min and the GT3RS 1:35,0 min. I don´t know what, but there is something wrong in the GT2 test.

So get the Z06 and the RS for the same price as the GT2. Oh wait that's what I did.
