We don't spend 90% of our time in the city. Instead we do a lot of mixed driving which means an LS600h will be running more on its gasoline engine than electric. Second, the trunk space and payload capacity of the LS600h are just a joke for this class. Europeans like to travel - even with big luxury cars like these and the Lexus, with its poor payload capacity and not-so-good fuel consumption lack the appeal of a long-distance cruiser in that regard. I don't doubt that the comfort is top notch however.

Such a bodyroll has not been seen in a cat that price since ages!! The review is not good for the Lexus... The comfort is not as good as the three others (the car trembles at every big bump on the road), and it bodyrolls a lot... At 200km/h the V8 has to go near the red zone to accelerate and becomes noisy, whereas the two others are comfortably cruising... Steering has no feel at all. The single good point is the fact that it can drive the first meters with no noise at all, majestic and silent. It can't stand with the others in the 0-100km/h, but has good performances, although without gearchanges, so that it feels a lot slower than it really is. The BMW has a not very relaxing comportment on high speed, a bit strange reactions...Not so reassuring at high speed. The Mercedes impressed them a lot, "Perfect does the Mercedes. High speed, bad road, lots of curves... No matter, nothing disturbs it. Furthermore you have perfect suspension and an evident Comand system. Relaxed, you really can concentrate on the road. Whereas you are by the competitors always looking for a button, seeking in a menu, looking at a display..." The Audi, thanks to its 4 wheel drive and light advantage, has the better performances despite a less impressive torque. Audi and BMW are more "noisy", to give a more sporty impression. But the Audi has less bodyrolling and more reassuring comportment than the BMW. The King still reigns... The Lexus... Next time, spend more time to develop the car and less to develop the gadgets, a luxury car is not only a gimmick-demo!!! |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Re: Autobild: Lexus LS 600h vs the German Trio To each his own Amo, mine would be the S-Class... But, even if the hybrid is not that convincing in the Lexus, and removes a lot of trunk space and load capacity, and even if it is a bit less convincing in all domains than the Germans... This Lexus maybe not the better sedan in the world... Let's say it is one of the better cars in the world. It is an exceptionnal car, even if some may be even more exceptionnal. And the hybrid is something that can motive you to buy it. Because it may have higher consumption than diesel, it pollutes less. And it is so... futuristic to have a car that can move in full silent... For me, these 4 cars are so good that it is more a question of preference, design, brand philosophy and image. The fact that one is more that, the other more that... You have to compare them to see it, because they are four of the best cars on the market today. For me the technical superiority, the look, and the image of the S-Class are decisive. For others, it will be the sporty ambitions of the BMW, or of the Audi and its four-wheel drive... For others, it will be the hybrid, the Japanese understatement, the touch-screen... ![]() |
