S-class has the better looking front but the 7er has a sexier rear.

Re: [Autozeitung] BMW 750i vs. Mercedes S 500 vs. Lexus LS 600h

The bodyrolling of the Lexus is shocking me in every test... Look at that compared to the others! And that, despite the fact that the Mercedes still is more comfortable... Whereas the BMW is much more sportier.

I think the new LS is the definition of the technical overkill. They put all the money and R&D in the gadgets, equipments and gimmicks, but forgot to develop the car... So the interior is bad-looking and not very well finished compared to the others, the drivetrain is totally outperformed by the competition... And it does not have more useful gadgets than the others.

And of course, it has no charm at all, no spirit or philosophy like the German competition has.

Yes, the body roll is quite alerting.

Hold the train there. Whilst I do agree that the Lexus LS is technical overkill (and probably the worst of the three), I would say the exact same thing for the other two in this company. All three of these cars have a abundant amount of features that are quite simply to the point of absolute overkill.

No, I don't agree. This is Lexus we're talking about here, not a half-arsed GM Sunfire. If anything, I think Lexus purposely choose not to make the LS as well balanced as the other two. I absolutely refuse to believe they "forgot", but rather believe it wasn't a priority.

I beg to differ yet again, but of course, you are entilted to you're opinion. I happen to think the LS most certainly has a philosophy. It caters to Lexus customers in every way imaginable: it's luxurious; has an endless amount features; features top notch quality and reliability; is powerful; has seamless ride and transmission and it even has a distinctive styling theme (whether you think it's characterless or not) that fits the vehicle's customer. Like me, for example.

Although I prefer the LS460, my choice in this comparison - to the surprise of no-one - would be the LS600h.

Thanks for posting ree!

Great test, as usual from Auto Zeitung. It's no doubt my favorite German car magazine.

Well not any more than any other German luxury car that is 6 years old. For example the CLK is almost as old as the 7er and is similarly in need for a successor.

Yeah the CLK looks so old next to 3er coupe and A5 except the CLK63 BS which is another story
