Various Nurnburgring laptimes for modern bikes -
09-19-2007, 09:23 AM
As I'm not really going to read all 23 pages through, bear with me if this is a repost...
So I bought the latest PB (Performance Bike, UK), and to my surprise noticed they have begun lapping the Ring too. Up till now Ive not seen many such tests done by single rider with many different bikes.
So I wondered whether these times would qualify as references of current motorbike performance on the ring on our lap times list.
As I wrote these, I got the feeling they aren't as precise as car counterparts even if done by one individual, but times anyway.
I have issue September 2007, the article states this (Buell,Yamaha,Ducati) was the fourth round. Does anyone subscribe the mag, more info of the tests? This mag has kerb weight/power and torgue benched. And assuming the map displays correctly this indeed is a Bridge to Gantry time. They have listed average mph, timing the laps is probably done with Vbox.

The thing with motorbikes and the 'Ring is that the times very rarely say anything about the capacity of the bike. Most bikes could do alot better times if only the rider had the courage.
No rider has the courage to push the bike to 100% an entire lap of the ring.
