The M3 wins this comparison! It's cheaper, more comfortable, easy to drive and has more space...

Good test, and for the first time: Hockenheimring times from AMS!!!

1.13,2 min - GT3 (far from Sport Auto's 1.11,7 min)
1.16,1 min - M3 (surely SA will do better, but it's faster than the old one)

Off course a GT will win against a pure breed sports car if price, cost of ownership, comfort and space is taken into account.

GT3 for me any day.

The GT3 wasn't built with any of that in mind. Kind of a stupid comparison in my opinion. I hate it when magazines compare sports cars and one car wins because it's more practical. It's a sports car! I think the base 911/911S and the M3 have more in common.

If you want one sportcar then GT3 is the choice but if you want a car to drive day after day and with comfort and practicalty then M3 is the choice.

I pick both please, one white GT3 and one interlagosblue M3

IMO it should be M3 vs 997 S and not GT3.

its also shame AMS pick old acceleration data for both and use the same numbers again.

What a crap conclusion, who cares about space when you compare those 2 beasts ? And how can you compare a 911 and a 3 series ??

Old data only for the M3. This tested GT3 is 0.1 s "slower" to 200kph than the other-AMS-GT3, more flexible, but slower at 18 m slalom.

Sure, I don't really see the point of comparing a GT3 with an M3... Not the same category. Maybe to see what BM and Porsche can do with 420hp...
The GT3 is 2 times more expensive than the M3.

More useful to compare M3 and Carrera/Carrera S imho.

Yep, just read it. Nothing really new

Thex loved the GT3, but tyres with no adherence when raining, and you have to change them every 3 tankfulling... At the rear... If driving very fast, the front too, and it is 1500€ the set of tyres!

They loved the M3 too, but steering wheel not so much feeling, gearbox a bit slow, noise a bit soft... A bit lacking traction...

But of course they say at the end: if you don't go into the GT3, you will be on paradise with the M3!!
