![]() ![]() | Re: R&T: Veyron beaten by a Hennessey Viper yes, but lets face it, even those who own supercars dont race past 160 mph on the road. maybe during an event like those setup by the M5board guys they may go to 180 or 190. distance wise, anything over 1/2 mile is unrealistic (look to revlover who were even on a racetrack too). |

If the McLaren F1 does 120 in 9.2 sec and 200 in 28.0 sec While the Bugatti does 200 in 24.2sec. The F1 does 120-200 in 18.8 quite a big difference. The F1 has to start at at 70mph to get in the same time to 200 as the Veyron. F1 time for 70-200 is 24.1.

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Re: R&T: Veyron beaten by a Hennessey Viper Let's look at it this way - The Hennessey, impressive as it is, is precision garage tuning. The fact that it beats the Veyron in a certain contest is an impressive trick, but one that can only be repeated so many times to failure. The Veyron, on the other hand, cost billions to develop utilizing the best and brightest engineers under conditions that blew fiduciary caution to the wind. Much as there are a thousand botique shops who would love to appear to be challenging the Veyron's throne - they can't. Nobody can. Nobody has the deep resources, or banckroll, the sheer insanity to repeat the Veyron project for probably another 15 years. So while the Koenigsegg and others may get within pissing distance of beating the Bugatti within certain criteria, they ultimately can't best the car. They can just claim some kind of quantitative benchmark and call it a day. For the moment - to say that the Hennesey Viper or any other supercar is "Faster" than the Veyron is like giving a toothless gutter skank with DD implants first prize in a beauty contest based on her chest measurements. Until an engineering effort is made that effectively rivals the Veyron project, or until an engineering breakthrough rearranges the playing field, the Bugatti's biggest rival is itself. No doubt, we'll see an even crazier Veyron surface in the not so distant future that leverages the lessons learned and flolds them into an even more consummately retarded record holder/pussy magnet.
