Both suffered extreme unreliabilty and were always in need of constant caressing. I see things haven't changed..
american cars are crap enough without being highly strung and stressed.

Hmm... I can't agree with the "american cars are crap enough" thing.

Nevertheless; I would say that these cars are highly strung and stressed enough as they are. It's not hugely uncommon for tuner cars to suffer from a variety of technical issues.. but as I stated, Lingenfelter and Hennessey have had these problems before. I don't think that makes them junk per se though.

Holy cow, those monsters were build, to hold you on, while you are gathering money for a "private-jet" ...!

Lamborghini Murcielago; Not the fastest, but a pure sex-appeal

Mercedes SLR; A super-car for chicks, even 100mph is insane

RUF Rt 12; Push your right foot & you'll see, I don´t just look good
LPE Corvette; Perform like Ferrari with price-tag of an American-Muscle
Bugatti Veyron; Like no other, leave her alone

Hennessey Viper; Insane, but any reason for being that fast & at the end of day, it's a Chrysler with price-tag of a Ferrari

The 0-100 mile time of 6.2 was touched by the McLaren F1 which gets the same, so I suspect the LM can do even better (5.5-6.0)

Re: R&T: Veyron beaten by a Hennessey Viper

Wow, it's amazing how much people hate on American cars here. Yes, I know it's all about German cars, and your precious Bugatti Tub-Of-Lard is made by VW, but it got beat in the test.

Deal with it.

Frankly, I'd take the Viper or the Vette EVEN with the breakdowns. Because I'd be able to pocket 1.35 million dollars, and laugh the rest of the way to the bank, because I know my car is faster in the 2 mile and to 200 (which is where the real big boys play) and I saved a pisston of money.
