No surprises here that the BMW won........well the only surprise really was the closeness of the final score IMO. Given the 3er's superior engine, I thought it would win by a fair margin. I can't read German but perhaps the C350 excelled in areas when the 3er did not do as well.

Don't forget about the usual determining factor, price! BMW has the edge in that department.

Let me help you guys....

Both get same points in handling, brakes and comfort. BMW score better in interior materials and quality. In almost all the rest of the categories both get similar points. Very tight comparison.

BODY - (including subcategories) - total score 164 points for MB and 162 points for 3er.

DRIVE/CHASSIS - (including subcategories) - total score 183 points for MB and 188 points for 3er.

COSTS - (including subcategories) - total score 106 points for MB and 111 points for 3er.

Mercedes tied a first-class package with C 350. With: functional equipment, much security, sovereign handling, sufficiently place. The problem is that: BMW offers the same. Even at a favourable price, to smaller operating cost. However thus the 3er wins this comparison. If we regard the duel besides from sporty view, the 335i C 350 shows only quite the tail lamps. Faster, more agiler, more exciting, of a grandiosen engine beacons - in such a way BMW proves undisputed its sports car authority.

So if we take costs out , BMW won only by 3 points.

As Andreas likes to say , the two cars are very close and it comes down to personal preference.

BTW the exterior of the C class is nice but the interior looks very cheap. It reminds me of the interior of A class.

I agree Yannis. I cannot stand the steering wheels they've been coming up with lately. And I'm sure a lot of people will complain about the window switches. The 5er's were there orginally and a lot of people really despised them.

On a positive note, the new C class looks a million times better than the older one imo. Great job MB
