How soon we do forget the CGT, and their's a reason none of these cars are ever compared against the GT3! Shame on anyone who believes Porsche is losing it's luster!
No offense, but I have to ask you this, cause I keep seeing you do this. Why do you loose your ability to write a comprehensible sentence the instant you read one that you do not agree with. The debate is much more enjoyable for every one when the other side gets the point you are trying to make.

Of course inflammatory language like "how dare you people.." and "shame on you anyone" doesn't help your cause much either...

Sunny, RICHBOY

Calm down. Such behaviour is not acceptable and further such arguements/slander posts will be deleted. Everyone has their opinion, so there's no need to get hyped up over it.

Thank you for your attention.

Re: [scans]C&D: BMW 335i beats Z4M and RS4 around a track

I'll admit to some predjudice here, but I've said it before, track tests and other performance tests are just that - tests. Sure, they attempt to simulate some real world performance siutations, but what you get are snapshots - not the whole movie.

I've had my RS4 for a little more than a year now, and continue to be amazed by it's real world performance and driveablility. It is quite simply an awesome automobile.

I've had the opportunity to ride in an associate's new 335, and it too is a very nice automobile. I wouldn't trade, though. If you were to ask my associate the same question, the answer would be different. He has said several times that he wishes he had gotten an RS. I think that I'd be more impressed with the 335 if it were available in AWD. A lot of them will be parked here in the winter.

Don't get me wrong, I am under no illusions about the future of automobile performance. There will always be faster cars. I don't care what you have, or what you spend. Someone will have faster.

I think that you buy what you want (and can afford) and enjoy it. Comparisons are interesting and inevitable, and we will always be fans of whatever it is that we are fans of.

Right now, I'm a big fan of the Audi stable, but I look forward to the technological leapfrog that the major manufacturers will be playing in the years to come...

That and the MTM supercharger when they make it available in the states!

While there is no AWD 335 coupe, there is an AWD 335xi sedan available.

And besides, it's position is in between the C4S and Turbo, and I'm guessing the diesel will in between the Turbo and Turbo S.

I really don't see the point of comparing the R8 with GT3/RS.
