Came across this and I'm speechless.

This week's Autocar has done a test on the new Ford Mondeo and according to the reviewer, it's better to drive than the benchmark 3 Series. Just head over to Autocar's website and see for yourself.

"A fine car in most areas and new class leader"

This is good for Ford but bad for BMW, Audi and especially MB who just launched the new C-Class.

I wonder what Ford had done what the others (namely MB and Audi) could not do to receive this verdict.

Well, if this is the case and other reviews say the same thing, Ford needs to be congratulated.

Intresting. A underdog better drive than Audi,bmw and mercedes, intresting if true.

but I wonder what "better drive" means, better handling? more fun to drive? more involving to drive? higher slalomspeeds? better comfort? better in citydriving?

I'm sure they did a great improvement with this car, but that's a little too much...

I read the review but I cant see where Autocar says Mondeo is a better drive than 3-series and the new C-class? Please show me.

I'm only going by what they advertised on the front cover. Surely they wouldn't lie, would they??

As for the C-Class, well, because the 3 is the benchmark, it would also beat the others right?

Ford has done wonders for its Focus ST so I'm not surprised here. But it's being a complete car that really matters IMO.

Brits are traditionally tended to glorify every brand connected to UK - either having origins in UK, or the company who owns the brand has at least one plant there.

Eg. Focus was better then Golf, LR RangeRover better then MB GL, Jaguar beats Porsche, Aston Martin better than Ferrari, Mini is the best sub-compact car etc.

Actually Mini is the best sub-compact car but the rest is BS.

I believe it's part of the problem Top Gear has with the 3 series outselling the Ford. They mentioned it all the time, saying it deluted the brand and couldn't believe it since the 3 series is more expensive; Brittains do have something against germany and BMW, especially now that Brittish car industry isn't worth shit and Brittain is BMW's third biggest market.
