Hehe, I can see why you have to point this out to me; you live in old Africa where these kind of vehicles actually matter in the bush bush. I live in what probably is the area with the most roads in the world, and 99.99999% of the people here don't take their SUV/SAV/SAC off road, it's as simple as that. X5 is designed for those very people.
But what you're saying is very right. X5 wouldn't perform well by your standards, but they are like a gift from the gods to others. The X5 makes up in 'activity' what it lacks in utility. It just drives better on curvy mountain roads....made of asphalt

I agree, the BMW's designs blows the Infiniti away, my point was just that others have done the sporty/suv/sav thing before BMW. The Infiniti FX drives like s tall 350Z, more sports car like than anything else of its size I've ever driven.

Of course the X5 is still my second favorite SUV at the moment, the GL is too big for my personal taste, but I can see why people would by a GL over a loaded X5, utility. Though the BMW does drive sportier like others have mentioned.

Still though I must defect from Germany for my first SUV choice, a Land Rover Range Rover Sport Supercharged. Love, love, love that truck.

That is so true. Everyone is making the X6 seem like it's a totally new design when Infiniti is the one that set that bar years ago. I'm sure the New FX will set an all new bar.

That is true. You get so much more with the GL550. Now don't get me wrong the X5 drives like a dream, but the GL550 offers so much more for the price.
