With a fully optioned interior, I think it has the best interior of the lot. I also like its creamy smooth W12, as well as its looks from the outside. Why isn't it coincidence I'm still voting for a German car even though the big three aren't included. ![]()

I think most of the people underrate this car. It is good looking and extremely comfortable. The handling is just amazing - it feels like driving a smaller car. Nevertheless the Phaeton is also a car with great expression - but I can't become friends with the design of this car. |

My impression of the XJ improved somewhat after seeing the special edition Daimler Eight XJ... The interior is really luxurious if given the right options, and the exterior remains a great classic IMO (too bad the facelift was kind of a backward step). A shame too, that Jag will move on to more modern designs from now on... We won't see classic designs like the XJ of today anymore. Quote:

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Re: The Alternatives: Quattroporte vs. XJ vs. LS vs. Flying Spur vs. Phaeton Last year, I drove a Jaguar XJ8 3.5! It's the smallest V8 with 258hp Jaguar offers. I was really impressed by the 6 speed automatic - the gear changes are extremely smooth and fast. The car induce yourself to drive balanced. It isn't a car you drive with 200km/h over the autobahn - at that speed the whole car becomes restively (the car we drove had no sport suspension). The engine isn't elastic at high speed as well. The interior has (except for the plastic around the navigation module) very good build quality. The seats are very comfortable and have endless opportunities to adjust. The rearseats are also comfortable enough (heated rearseats are standard now) - my dad could seat really relaxed (he stand 1,96 m tall).Overall it's a great car and I really enjoyed to drive it. |
