Questions:

1. Is the Lexus Hybrid a real match for the German V12s?

2. Is the styling of the XJ more original then the Germans?

3. How do you feel about Bentley's styling direction compared with the Highend german models?

4. Which interior seems to be the most resourceful?

1. Only the the V12s from BMW and Audi, not Mercedes, at least when it comes to power and torque. Now whether or not the LS600hL as a whole will match the Germans remains to be seen. I don't think the S600 has a think to worry about.

2. No, but it is more in keeping with Jaguar's past, which is part of the car's sales problems, but theat is for anothe thread.

3. It looks like a giant (unattractive) VW.

OK, from that point of view, you are correct Artist, the S class is probably technically the best vehicle of the group.

However, if I was to be absolutely honest, in terms of real quality, the Bentley would undoubtedly be the best car of the group (but you do pay heavily for that). The S class has a lot of great gadgets and stuff ...much of it unnecessary -- but it is a very impressive car. The BMW is a fantastic car, truly groundbreaking -- but I will wait for the next 7er -- that will be the best car without a doubt ...untill the A8 comes along.

well thats obvious aint it rob..
when a new car comes along its the better one..and then another new one..
and the cycle goes on.. but the thing to see here is the way the 7er has failed totally at the end of its life.. being last in tests..and not appriciated..
now i remember that even at the end of the W220´s life.it was still prefered by many..
i dont think any other than MB can have this effect on this class..
this is their domain..
and both you and i know that the only edge the S has over the others..isnt the unecessary gadgets.. as its most likely better at about everything..

and the bentley i cant comment on that car..cause i hate it with a passion..thats not a bentley..

3. Bentley Flying Spur

4. Audi A8

5. Lexus LS460

6. Jaguar XJ
