As for the name of the magazine, again, it's CAR - a British publication and arguable the worlds best car magazine.

R32 has gor excellent reviews so far. Autocar also said that they like it better than BMW 130.

That's awsome. W/ a slght boost of HP(R36) I can totally see this car as a very realistic propostion for me. Extreme practicality and extreme fun.... doesn't get any better than that.

R32 has another plus. The haldex based AWD which transfers the power nicely to the road under all conditions.

Hmm the new great UK Car magazine - all opinion, fancy photography and clever graphic design. Not too many facts though and they hardly ever do a road test along the lines of an Autocar or Evo. "CARsmo" I call it. Nice to collect but ultimately a little too much fashion and pretentiousness these days.

Good, solid motoring journalism is so hard to come by these days.

I'm sure the R32 is a worthy all-round "winner" but it'd never trump a 130i, let alone an STi in the dynamic stakes.

Haldex: "once the slipping stops so does the all-wheel drive..."

Autozeitung also declared R32 as the winner. 130i was the car for the driver and most fun but R32 was the better allround car.

A3 3.2Q was also in the test but got the last place. Intresting to see that they prefer Golf over Audi.

euhm, to each his own, but in the article it did just that. "the Bavarian rear wheel drive chassis simply does not provide the same spectrum of dynamic features as 4motion. The Subaru shows that 4wd can be a real asset and a real challenge. The R32 shows that 4wd can be as good a commuinicator as the best pair of driven wheels." Of course one quote doesn't tell the whole story, but this gives you the idea. BMW builds great cars, w/ great handling and dynamics, heck, that's what they're famous for, but that doesn't mean that they get it right everytime. Expect the unexpected.
