Its one of those spot the difference kinda jobs. I think i have to see one in person to grasp the improvements, if any. Front looks kinda neat tho, albeit like a facelift.

Re: Official: Golf MK.VI

Well, my first impression is: expected something like this..

Though the car has that sad look, Touareg style back lights really don't fit it, and I don't like that it's even bigger now, in next generation Golf will be large as Phaeton.

Maybe it was time for more radical design in this generation, something like from the Golf II to Golf III.

When is it going on sale?

Re: Official: Golf MK.VI

VW might as well call it a facelift because this new MK.VI is just a MK V with a new skin and some mechanical improvements. Basically the MK.V was too expensive to build so VW had a close look at the current car and make it cheaper to build, as a result of all this we get the MK VI. VW brought forward of the launch so now this ''new'' generation is introduced at about the same time when the MK V is due for a facelift.

I didn't have much expectation for the exterior design and I was proven correct. The front is ok, but the back end reminded me of a Tourag. I was hoping VW will give the new car a more refreshing interior design, but from what I can see it is a massive disappointment, most of the bits and pieces are the same, they reuse the glovebox lid, in fact there is virtually no difference on the passenger side of the dash. The center console is a softer version of the old car, it certainly didn't look like the designers have spent any effort on it, perhaps VW didn't pay them enough.

I don't have much hope for the new GTI either, if I am in the market for a car like that, i am going to bag myself a Scirocco instead.

My exact thoughts. I'm officially done with VW, everything they've created recently is bland and overly predictable. The front end has barely changed and the tail look like they came straight from the Toureg. Interior looks neat but overall it's blaaaaah + Yawn.

Re: Official: Golf MK.VI

It's going on sale ASAP, since right now you can't order Golf MKV which means Vw is loooooooosing half their money!

About the car, the exterior has now a more sporty yet a conservative touch,
Inside is now more classy and CC'ish...

This will be cheaper for Vw to build..
The MKV had a more advanced Suspensionsystem/underbody ...

I don't like it but I don't care ... Now I finally can purchase
a Golf MKV GTI for less....

They better do the right thing this time too, a 300hp R36, no more R32!
