^^^^^ I agree.... It should have the LED strips of the Concept. Go much better with the design... Maybe the facelift will get them.

GLK Training was held at Atlanta Classic Cars today. We received a full introduction to the 2010 GLK350 and were able to compare it to the BMW X3 and the Acura RDX.

The GLK is quite impressive! You can tell that Mercedes put a lot of work into developing this model specifically for drivers who want a small SUV, rather than just adapting a current model to fill a niche. From the outside it has its own distinctive styling - it does not look like a shrunken ML or a GL. It also has a presence - this is a car that you would notice driving down the road. On the inside, I was impressed with the seating position. It is smaller than a traditional SUV but the upright seating position and great visibility make it feel very commanding on the road. It was also a pleasure to drive. The V6 engine is plenty of power and the car felt very agile. It even has a 3500 lb towing capacity!

Also, not sure how solid this is, but according to - ONLY REGISTERED AND ACTIVATED USERS CAN SEE ALL LINKS - CLICK HERE TO REGISTER the price for the GLK350 will be $35,900. That is almost 4K less than the C350 so I can't see that being correct.

base price is $35,900. But the option list can get pretty long. Only one premium package, but do have more stand alone options.

Just got back from my drive. Awesome. The car is rock solid and quiet as a mouse. Handling is superb. With 19" wheels I was expecting a teeth chattering experience, but it was amazingly smooth. And with the upright windshield I was expecting constant noise, but it is as quiet as the ML.

tennmb, thanks for the update! How was the quality and design inside? Better than the photos?

I thought the material quality was great. Everything is tight and plastics have a weighty feeling, if that makes sense. I like it better than the ML.
Could have used a little more rear leg room, but that's become a running theme with Mercedes.

That's good to hear. I rate the ML interior quality the lowest of the MB big cars...!

Thanks for the report tennmb. That base price is like 4K less than the C350 Sport Sedan. Mercedes must be planning to really sell this thing. I would suspect that a buyere could get a nicely equipped one for about 43-44K? If so they'll go like hotcakes, well if the market is showing any life come January. Any pre-orders at your dealership yet?
