Lewis Hamilton's dad made a rather embarrassing blunder on Thursday when he crashed a Porsche Carrera GT into a children's playground 200 metres from his home in Tewin.

Displaying none of his son's talent, Hamilton Snr careered across a grass verge and through a hedge into the playground. He reportedly tried to reverse out of the mess but instead sent dirt flying as he beached the car even further.

The £330,000 Porsche, which has a top speed of 205mph, suffered damage to the bodywork and a broken rear light. Thankfully, though, the playground was empty at the time and no one was injured.

Eyewitness Daniel Winn told the Mirror: "I was working near his house and saw him leave in the Porsche. He started revving the car really hard and wheel-spinned off.

"He had the roof down and looked at me before he put his foot down. He roared off and 50 yards down the road lost it on the corner.

"The car spun around at 180 degrees and left the road. There was a terrible bang. I ran over and I asked if he was alright. He just said 'yes' and staggered off, looking really shocked.

"A bit later he drove back in a 4X4 to take a look at the Porsche. I rang to report the accident."

Neither father nor son has commented on the incident.

Mmmm ....now we know where Lewis doesn't get his driving skills from.

Lewis will have to act like a father in this and ground Anthony for a week. This is quite an embarrassment, you son is one of the best drivers on the planet and you fail to keep a CGT on the road.

Speaking of he CGT it's not a car for the poseur, it's a car you can get into trouble with very easily, especially if you apply to much power at once. I've seen countless of images of CGTs wrecked due to the driver wanting to test the deep waters.

He should've bought an SLR and let the ESP in "young cock" mode...

More like an SLK55 which has ESP that still kicks in even when it's turned "off". The CGT isn't even his, hence the German plates.

The dude slided pretty car and the car probably only suffered body damage. Too bad Lewis wasn't there to help him out with a crane.

I'm in pain seeing that CGT like that

If it had landed in MY garden, it weirdly would have disappeared very quickly and the Hamilton man wouldn't 've been able to find it when he came back to tow it away... Strange isn't it?

I live behind a park, and I keep everything that has landed in my backyard, so if I happen to find a Porsche CGT sitting in my backyard, I will demand ownership of the car.
