This is the African Huntsman or Rain Spider:
Members of the Sparassidae family can be quite intimidating - when threatened they rear up and expose their very large fangs - but are actually harmless. They are common throughout rural and urbanised Southern Africa.

Euchh.
The raft spider, which is the biggest spider we've got here, is big enough for me, thank you very much...
Apparently its bite hurts about as much as a wasp sting, they've never bitten me though.
