Post Shaqs XXL Gallardo - 04-28-2007, 11:53 AM

FOUNTAIN VALLEY, Calif. — Basketball great Shaquille O'Neal got special treatment for his - ONLY REGISTERED AND ACTIVATED USERS CAN SEE ALL LINKS - CLICK HERE TO REGISTER — a stretched version thanks to Gaffoglio Family Metalcrafters, a supplier for such corporations as the Boeing Company and PPG Aerospace Glass. The longer Lambo has 12 inches added through the middle, surely a relief for the 7-foot-1-inch athlete.

The Gallardo received custom extended doors, roof and side windows. The company says it strove to maintain the car's "visual integrity" with the changes. Glass fabrication was a particular challenge, the company said. "We relied on our aerospace and coachworks divisions to make sure Shaq could fit in the car, but the naked eye could not detect any differences from the original Gallardo," Gaffoglio CEO George Gaffoglio said.

What this means to you: Great minds working together help Shaq fit in his luxury car. Two points!

ok he has the money to do whatever he wants with his cars, personally i will not do that to a car. The Gallardo looks a bit weird now, the side profile has lost a bit of its original aggressiveness.

Did they increase the length of the steering column now that he is sitting a bit further back?

It will be crap on the track. The car won't be as agile thanks to the longer wheelbase, and the extra wheelbase has shifted the weight distribution towards the rear, causing more oversteer. The torsional rigidity of the chassie will be hopeless because the torsional stress will focus around those sections of the car which has been cut and then welded back together.

Compare to the regular gallardo, this XXL version will be rubbish on the track.

Umm.."but the naked eye could not detect any differences from the original Gallardo"

I noticed it look different right away.. as I'm sure most of us did.

Does indeed look weird, I suppose when you're his height most cars would be too small!

I can imagine this would ruin the handling of the whole car because it wouldn't be as stiff!

The big dummy has a lot of time to drive this mess of a vehicle now that the Chicago Bulls swept them out of the first round of the playoffs. That hasn't been done to a defending champion in 50 years!!!!! This car is just as stupid and lame as his b-ball skills as of late.
