i have been looking for info and cars for sale... of the G 500 or 300 series??

whats the diffrence?? were can i get info on the newer cars??? what comes in manual gear ???

not much is sayed or known about the newer the smaller G....

especialy the CABRIO....

does the g500 CABRIO coup come in manual gear???

I'm feeling great, hope you are as well.

The G-Class is a very complicated vehicle when we look at the engine choices. The original G-Class debuted as the W463 in 1979 and came with weak engines that were all available with a manual transmission (240GD, 300GD, 230G and 280GE). In 1982, 1985 and 1986, these same engines were either replaced or boosted in terms of power (gasoline engines received fuel injection): still available with a manual.

The G-Class we have today is the W460. The current model range encompasses:

G320 CDI (7Gtronic)
G500 (7Gtronic)
G55 AMG (5-spd A/T)

As you can see, they're automatic only.

If you want a G-Class with a manual transmission, you need to get either an older W463 or one of the W460 models that had a manual option:

250GD
300GD / G300 Diesel
G270 CDI

200G / G200
230GE / G230

Keep in mind that many of these were only sold in Europe, so they might not even be available in your area.

The G-Class Cabrio used to be quite popular, but as far as I know it is not being produced anymore due to low demand. Personally, I always felt the LWB G-Classes looked the best.

Hey abunawaff, you're right, there's not much info on G500 Cabrio...I think g500 comes with automatic V8.

All current G-Classes are automatic-only.

You can get older ones with a manual, but they're slow, thirsty and the manuals are really bad (older MB manuals really sucked).

i have only come across one in the USA 500 cabrio, and i knew the manual gear was a lont cause.....

i have a LWB g500 now i love it... i dont think i will ever ever sell it...

there is anouther one i found in germany but its a g55 cabrio and its brand new,, and out of my budget for now.... i thought about getting an older one and having the angine changed to the newer styl... but thats just too much work....i just finished a full rebuild on my lamborghini LM002 and that took over a year..lool
