Facelifted G-Class!

The updated/facelifted G-Class (the original G) will be shown at the Paris show this fall! Yippie!

The revised premium SUV keeps its boxy exterior looks, but will get new interior features and more powerful engines mated to a seven-speed transmission instead of the current five-speed unit.

Can you say G550? This is exactly what I've always wanted for the G, modern mechanicials/interior combined with the classic look! Long live the OG! Hopefully the G55 will keep the supercharged V8 but with hp upped to the FL SL55 (510hp) level.

I don't think they'll put the new AMG in the G because in naturally aspirated form it would struggle to move the heavy G and the turbo version might be too expensive. I'm betting they'll stick to the SC V8 updated to 07' SL55 specs/output.

Lets see thats a FL G and possibly and updated SLR at Paris. Now for that CL and SLK55 400hp Tracksport please!

yeah could very well turn out the way you say..but then again the G is expensive.. so maybe they will give it the same AMG treatment as S,CL and SL

i dont think there is a need for another MB suv maybe a small one to go against the X3 but thats it

This is going to be interesting! I`m still wondering what kind of changes MB will make. The bodystyle on the G is very chiseled so the changes will have to be minimal.

No. Quite the opposite IMO. They should keep that boxy look. This is what makes that car unique and desirable. Com' on, it made it for more than 30 years with this look. It can last very much longer.

Finally. The facelift will probably be an interior from an already existing model and I also hope for nicely updated front and tail lights.
