![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Kimi kept on a short leash Ferrari will not seek to prevent Kimi Raikkonen from partying or enjoying a drink in his free time – but it has called on him to do so “discreetly”, away from the public eye. The Finn’s colourful lifestyle caught the attention of the tabloids on more than one occasion during his McLaren days, prompting suggestions that his new employers – used to Michael Schumacher’s unwavering professionalism – would attempt to curb his behaviour. But Todt claims he has no problem with Raikkonen enjoying a drink as long as he doesn’t cause the team any embarrassment. “The Finns like to drink from time to time,” Todt said in an interview with French newspaper Le Figaro. “Raikkonen will be much more visible at Ferrari, and he will therefore receive a lot of attention. “If from time to time he wants to have some drinks with his friends, we will kindly ask him to do so discreetly.” Todt said what he liked about Raikkonen as a driver was that “he’s a guy who has talent and doesn’t do anything to attract attention, doesn’t complain and handles defeat with dignity”. And he added that he was unconcerned about Raikkonen’s reported lack of enthusiasm for testing and training. “You hear the stories – but at this level, there are no tricks, it is necessary to be prepared,” Todt said. “But I believe as a driver he is fast and consistent.” Source ITV.com |
