As you can probably tell its been a fairly slow morning for Mercedes news, but for all you F1 fanatics, I did manage to find this small nugget of information.

It turns out, Mercedes-Benz has become the second engine maker in F1 to break the elusive 20,000 revs/minute barrier. The first engine maker to achieve the milestone was Cosworth, William's current supplier, but that didn't stop Mercedes' Norbert Haug from reportedly taking great delight when his team achieved the same mark.

"We've cracked 20,000," Haug was reported as saying in Eurosport AutoMagazin.

Now if only the McLaren Mercedes F1 team could actually win a race...

Impressive, Now if only Mclaren can get the aero/cooling and mechanical grip right they will have a race winning car.

Its funny in the history of the Mclaren-Mercedes often Mercedes is the weakest-link of their package but it seems this year the chassis from Mclaren is a bit of a dissapointment.

I believe the Mercedes engine is one of the best out there on the grid and I think a while back this year there was this F1 magazine who used sound pitch test to determine the rev of each team and Mclaren-Mercedes had the 2nd highest revving engine (behind cosworth).

I hope my friend Alex won't be mad, but i'm moving this to Formula 1 section...

I think the final buyout of Ilmor mid season last year and the dropping of any development other than F1 has led to most of their success. To bad the team always has problems of one sort or another and just can't get it together and win a damn WDC.

Let's not forget that the Cosworth engine only broke the 20k barrier in a lab... not on a ractrack!
