well i am not an expert when it comes to tracks or circuits, but uninspiring surroundings and artificial was a bit too far ..anyhoo .. i think its unique and a refreshing design.

You said it yourself mo, the island was nothing a couple of years ago, in term of artificial feel i don't know what could top it It's exactly the same as Valencia, there's nothing beautiful to look at, instead of spending billions to incorporate the marina and the mega hotel, they could have done something much more purer and natural by playing more with the natural beauty of desert.

lol shonguiz, the island was nothing but dust and few mangrove trees .. I think they wanted modern and they nailed it. Ferrari theme park and Warner bros gonna do their wonders too. Patience Patience.

BTW I hear F1 noises where I live. Yesterday I noticed.

Hamilton totally rocked it. Strong performance by Red Bull who must be bummed about not locking out the front row. The circuit looks spectacular at night and must have the organisers of the Valencia circuit scratching their heads over how they've been outdone by Abu Dhabi. Further more there were actually boats ad yachts docked around the circuit unlike in Valencia where there is a complete lack of atmosphere.

But let's not beat down of Valencia too much. Yas Marina is backed by organisations who's pockets are bottom-less. The only query I have is who on earth will be staying at that spectacular hotel when an F1 race isn't hosted?? It seem to have very limited use as the circuit and vicinity around it will be deserted on Tuesday morning.

Dr. Dieter Zetsche and Anthony Hamilton just couldn't miss this "once in a lifetime" chance...
