So, some teams managed to get away with a rather disputable interpretation of a vauge rule. The other teams protest as they did what was intended and got a huge disadvantage.

I'm with Centurion on this one, once something like this has passed, there is nothing stopping it. We will have very aggressive interpretations on a wide range of matters. Just imagine what "clever" solutions was left off the cars because of teams not wanting to push their luck. Now everyone knows that if there is the possibility of making something fly through a loophole, it will.

God, this will be an exciting season! I don't know if I'm supporting Brawn & co or if I wish that karma will strike back at them.

I don't think they have bad karma. Ross brought up this issue last year and no one gave a sh!t.

Formula One news: Brawn mentioned diffusers a year ago - GPUpdate.net Formula One

Here is part of the article:

"If I'm frank, I didn't say 'look, we're going to do this diffuser if you don't accept this rule'," Ross explained. "I'm not going to tell people what we're doing, but I explained that I felt we should have a different set of rules to simplify what needs to be done. I offered them and they were rejected, so my conscience is very clear."

"Those rules that I put on the table would have stopped a lot of things," Brawn continued. "It would have stopped the diffuser and all of those bargeboards around the front - it would have cleaned the cars up. Nobody was interested then, but they are very interested now."

Pretty much, egoism on the part of the other teams. Boo F__king hoo, cry me a river McLaren, Ferrari and whoever the F__k.

If it is true (and he really explained what was going to happen) then I don't think he is to blame. The FIA is. They have themselves opened up for this type of interpretation... and there will be more. Lex Brawn will have a huge impact.

The thing is that Brawn & Co didn't come up with an innovation, this solution was known from all, and the crap thing is that when Renault & RBR asked the FIA about it they were told it's illegal, so yes the teams complains are legitimate.

That's what I mentioned before about ambiguity in regulations. Renault must feel really bummed as they too started working on their 2009 car very early last year but no dividends has been paid for all that work.

As I said ... In the case one of the Tier1 teams featuring such wing & having such advantage FIA would react completely differently: calling it illigal, and annulling all the eg. teams points etc.

But outsider teams like Brown , Williams, and Toyota now leading the game ... sure it's interesting.

And all Max & Bernie care about is money: more interesting development = more publicity = more viewers = more money.

Very simple formula. Sadly.

This two guys should die off together with this econo-crisis. They are like "Madoffs" of motorsport.

Go home!

That takes us back to last year where FIA intentionally fabricated the excitement of Brazil by penalising Hamilton all throughout the previous races while letting Ferrari get away with anything. All just to keep the excitement level up, just like what's happening now where the top teams are racing in the science labs to catch up with Brawn, Toyota and Williams.

klier has disabled reputation
Toyota is not an outsider team. BMW STILL is (as long as they keep mediocre drivers like Heidfelt and Kubica )

^ To me it looks like a FIA and/or fabricated scheme to divide the teams.
