The Ferrari suffers from a bit of under steer. Massa had a big big moment coming down the main straight when his left rear wheel caught the grass and the car snapped right. He looked to be heading towards the wall at great speed, but somehow managed to save it. The BMWs, which were suppose to be quick were nowhere. Kubic complained about not being able to feel what the car is doing, and said the setup changes didn't really change the balance of the car. The Renault doesn't look that sharp either, and Piquet really struggle to contain the rear end.

^ Yep the cars look like crap, sound like crap and (most of them) drive like crap.

For some reason, i just don't have a feeling that Ferrari will take this one. I'm expecting a mjor surprise here.

Diffuser...since when there's anything non legal in F1? While the rest of the teams are whining and complaining about it, u can bet they're already started copying the design, and by Spain, 90% of the field will run that diffuser.

I got the same feeling as well, and so does Domenicali. This is what he said

"One cannot really draw hasty conclusions after just three hours of free practice, but the first signs seem to support what we saw during winter testing. The pecking order that had established itself in recent years seems to have been overturned and we now find ourselves up against different and more numerous rivals."

The established pecking order has been overturned - Domenicali - F1technical.net

At the end, F1 will benefit if a small private team wins the championships this year.

As for the diffuser issue, the teams complaining about it haven't specifically said why the diffuser is illegal, as far as my understand of this subject goes, those three teams simply exploited the gray areas of the regulations, they didn't deliberately design something that was meant to be illegal and hope that they could get away with it.

That's what will happen. Be sure that this weekend all the jealous teams will be taking thousands of photos of Brawn's diffuser and implementing it for Bahrain. Don't forget that KERS will play a deceive role as well. Some teams are still lagging behind in development and implementation. So this year science will play a big role in F1.

Mclaren already has their own version. It is currently blocked off for now.

Somehow I'm not expecting F1 be able to be even near as exciting as this (and this is a 12-hour race):

It's hard to say. In fact too early to assume. Remember how close it was at SPa last year?

But with the tricky aero, and slick tires, it's really interesting to watch what will happen. Of cos, tracks like Albert Park will be hard to see something like that. So, don't get ur hopes to high this SUnday.

The Swedish commentators brought up a good point today.

With kers there is a lot less room for ballast, and this ballast alone is the best way of fine-tuning the set-up. And without this ballast you'd lose about 0.8 seconds per lap. They also said that it's doubtful whether the kers-system is efficient enough to make up for that loss.

That's all I'm hoping for now.

Braun 1-2! Honda must be kicking themselves... I think there will be some harakiri after the weekend ends.
