I thought the race would be more entertaining but apparently Valenica is such a long semi-narrow track which is ridiculously easy to drive making the top performer dwell away into the horizon increasing the gap with each lap. Just look at how Massa and Hamilton finished over 30 second ahead of the field. I can't recall one single overtaking from the race! It it wasn't for Ferrari's messing up, the reace would have been a complete bore just like Barcelona. Massa loves it when the weather is hot and this is another proof of it. He drives like a master when the track temperature is exotic. Sadly he's not going to retain his deserved victory for this lap. Given how strict FIA are when it comes to breech of regulations in the pit there is no question in my mind that Massa will get penalized for it. That was one of most unsafe pit releases I've ever seen and could have resulted in disaster. Ferrari obviously wanted to release him ahead Sutil in order not to ruin his pace getting stuck behind slow car giving Hamilton a chance to catch up. Kimi's engine turning into Italian toast is another embarrassment from Ferrari. |

![]() ![]() ![]() | Re: 2008 European Grand Prix There would have been a stop-and-go penalty if it was a McLaren driver who came out of the pits like Massa did. I just hope if something like this happens to the McLaren drivers, the FIA stewards would treat them with similar leniency. Otherwise a great drive from Massa. |

![]() I dont expect anything to happen. If there was going to be a punishment, that would have been a drive through which didn't happen. What are they going to do strip him of his win? Anyone would agree that that would be extremely harsh (minus the McL fans of course). I find it pretty amazing that after all this, Massa is only 6 points behind Hamilton. That's pretty good if you looked at it in Ferrari's perspective. | |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Re: 2008 European Grand Prix Well looks like Massa got away with this one, the FIA is giving him a $10 000 Euro fine instead. I agree with Massa on this one, why is Sutil fighting with him when Sutil isn't really fighting for track position. As for the race, this is the 1st time ever that I have switched off the TV before the race finished. It was utterly boring, Í don't mind if there are no overtaking, but the cars aren't even remotely close to each other on the track, so there is virtually zero chances of any pit stop overtaking at all. I am very disappointed with Ferrari and Kimi. The Ferrari team had another average performance, and someone really need to sort out what the hell is going on with that Ferrari engine. Despite Massa's domination, I cannot overlook the numerous mistakes the team made during the GP. The pit stop mistakes, the team strategy for Kimi, and Kimi's extremely underwhelming performances, perhaps he knew his engine won't last the distance so he was being extremely conservative? I hope this is not the beginning of another dark era for Ferrari. This year, the championship is yet again for Lewis to loose.
