As if Ferrari aren't backing up Kimi more than Massa, but he still performs well doesn't he? Sure Heikki has been a bit unlucky with the mechanics a few times. But when the car has had zero problems he wasn't been up to the task of driving the car like someone behind a Mclaren or Ferrari should. He's not taking full advantage of the car, and that is a big problem since him not standing on the podium is one of the reasons why Mclaren don't stand a chance in winning the constructors championship. At least he did a good effort of finishing 4th.

Definitely agree...and I don't think anyone here would suggest otherwise about how BMW isn't quite there yet as a genuine title contender, but Canada was a BIG high for BMW and their fans, but in the previous races throughout the year they've been a clear cut number 3 team during the race, but yesterday they were nothing more than just a couple of cars in the pack.
I honestly just automatically expected Kubica to reel in Trulli, put pressure on him and then get the pass done on the track or in the pits..but nope, he just faded back until Kovi' and the light rain unsettled Trulli again. Also, I would have definitely expected Heidfield to slice and dice his way through to a points scoring position, but that wasn't even close to eventuating.

But then again, looking at how even Hamilton struggled to fly through the field, it suggests that this race was more just about track position. Sad thing about F1 is how boring some of the races can get at times. Makes it a hell of a lot harder to keep watching the race when it comes on around 11pm-midnight over here in Australia.

Yeah. Trulli finishing 3rd was a big surprise. With Lewis in the far back I'd expect Heikki, Kova or Heidfeld to rise to the occasion and nab 3rd place.

Oh, the other thing that pissed me off was why Kimi didn't get black flagged or made to come in and fix the exhaust. If it was any other team driving around with a broken piece flailing around dangerously, I am sure they would have got the stick.

Could you imagine if the exhaust had been thrown off the car and into the stands hitting some kid on the head.

I was hoping it would come off and take out Massas car

That won't be a terrible thing as I want Massa to win the WDC. I think he has had his share of misfortune this season.

Re: 2008 French Grand Prix

Massa is surely a genuine candidate for the WDC this season. for someone, after 2 races of 0 points, to be leading the WDc standings at the halfway point, is really something.

he seems to be cool, calm and collected. hats off to Kimster tho, it was just pure bad luck. but those bad luck days during his Mclaren stint probably taught him how to bring home a car with 1 exhaust for a 2nd place. well done.
