Raikkonen is on course to emulate his feat of last season as he currently heads the drivers' standings by nine points from Lewis Hamilton after his Spanish Grand Prix win on Sunday. Keke Rosberg, the 1982 world champion and father of Williams driver Nico, had recently hinted Raikkonen might walk away if he won back-to-back championships. But speaking to Switzerland's Motorsport Aktuell, a dismissive Domenicali said: "I have heard this rumour and there is not a grain of truth to it. "Kimi is motivated from head to toe and I know he is not thinking of retiring." Sporting Life / Eurosport

![]() | Re: Ferrari rubbish Kimi quit talk This rumour would appear to be neccesary for people to still talk about Alonso moving to Ferrari next year... I can't see it happening though. He's relatively young (29 I think) so he can drive and be challenged for a few more years yet. Plus, with the gap closing to the top cars he'll face more of a challenge next year which should keep him motivated and interested. |

![]() ![]() | Re: Ferrari rubbish Kimi quit talk Isn't he signed until the end of 2009? I wouldn't put too much stock in this rumour, based on what Keke Rosberg said. He won't be retiring because he's too old. If he does go, it'll be because he thinks he's done enough. I think Alonso may be similar and he would retire if he won a third-title. |

He will retire the day Renault, BMW or Mercedes have a car on a par with the F2008. As it looks now he has a very good chance of winning this year unlike last year when he was very lucky to win. |

![]() ![]() | Re: Ferrari rubbish Kimi quit talk ^^ I don't think Kimi is the sort of guy that will retire when the rivals are as fast or faster than him. Once he feels he's done enough (three WDCs perhaps) I think he goes quietly and without fanfare. I still don't rate him anywhere close to the F1 greats, but I gotta respect him if he decides to walk away (and stays away) after he feels he's achieved his goals. |
