2007 British GP

Hamilton vows Silverstone revenge.

Britain's Lewis Hamilton insisted that McLaren will have their revenge on Ferrari for their French Grand Prix defeat at his home race at Silverstone next weekend.
The 22-year-old McLaren driver had no answer to the Italian team's pace as he finished third - 30 seconds behind the dominant Kimi Raikkonen and Felipe Massa.
But his result - which maintained exceptional record of having finished on the podium in every race of his F1 career - still saw him extend his championship lead to 14 points over his team-mate Fernando Alonso, who finished seventh.
"Overall I am happy for the team," said Hamilton. "We got good points. I got good points for the championship, which is the key, and obviously we need to keep on pushing. Ferrari are quick but I think we can take it to them at next race.
"I think we'll be competitive at Silverstone. The team are working very, very hard back at the factory to keep improving and I know that at next race we'll be quicker.
"So long as we keep going with reliability and consistently I don't see why we can't keep going for the win."
Hamilton, who was second on the grid, pointed to the start of the race as the crucial moment as Raikkonen sprinted past him off the line.
From then on he was unable to do anything about the Finn and lost track of the Italian machines when McLaren switched him from a two-stop strategy to a three.
"I didn't get off to the best start," he added. "I don't really know what happened but I saw Kimi come flying past. So he got a better start.
"I had the pace at the beginning and was slightly quicker than Kimi, so I thought I had to try really hard. But when you get close you lose downforce and unless you are seconds quicker you are not going to get past."

Re: 2007 Silverstone-British GP

Silverstone will most likely be sold out by friday. More so I'm sure Mclaren are working their asses off to make sure that their cars are flawless this weekend. They will be driving in the UK, one of their drivers is a promising Brit, Mclaren is British and even their main sponsors is British. Mclaren has got to take this one home.

Re: 2007 British GP

I hope Chonkoa's prediction comes true. Ferrari need 1-2s, especially those where Massa doesn't get released into traffic after his second stop and he wins the race.

Re: 2007 British GP

If Hamilton is going to screw up due to pressure at all this season, I would imagine it will be at Silverstone. ITV already talks about him like he's the second coming and the British media is going to be all over him this week.

Re: 2007 British GP

Hamilton to win, podium for BMW, if not, then as usual - in top 5. Couldn't care less for others.
