Thanks for posting that shonguiz. The battle for 4th was the hilight of the race. A really good duel between those two.

I'm really excited to see that we're entering race 4 with three drivers tied for 1st, and one trailing by just 4 points. It's also really nice to see that BMW may be emerging as a "3rd Party Contender."

Remember the gripes (was it David Coulthard) being made about the 19,500 RPM limit hurting passing opportunities? Thus far, I don't think those worries have merit.

Well they do. Most overtaking was done by late braking not on straight, but Heidfeld was sort of an exception (tough BMW is rumored to have most powerfull engine).

Nice photo, hope he will sign it. I also must say that i find BMW engineers look very cool (it woud be perfect without petronas logo).

Nice to see Kubica sharing the joy of his team. Did you notice that rampf is the only technical director that is also a pilot ??

No doubt, it's a german team.

Re: Bahrain GP

Swiss german .

Tough I prefer the Renault mixture, anglo-french, italian playboy boss, with italian-french cuisine and more joyable (in good time) faces and the best website. Hope they'll find their new Alonso/Schumacher and make a comeback to were they belong.

For now good luck to BMW on catching the front.

Re: Bahrain GP

Sorry, I'm late to the party a bit.

HA HA Ha....Ron Dennis got Pwned. Seriously with the A-hole comment he was making about BMW and their drivers about "Showboating" and "Not having a Strategy" has hit him hard.

Were they "Showboating" now Ron? I respect ron a lot but he seriously needs to watch his mouth when he doesn't know what F__k he is talking about.

Whether Alonso was struggling or not, all the drivers had the same conditions which was hot as hell and lots of dirt/sand on the track. So no exception for Alonso this time about "bad balance". Both McLarens had a bad second stint so it wasn't just Alonso who had a problem.

Kudos to BMW, Ferrari and Lewis.

Re: Bahrain GP

Thanks shonguiz for posting that video of the great overtaking moment! I remember watching that, and jumped up and shouted YES!!

Good to see BMW doing well, I'm so glad I'm supporting a team on the rise, and not a team like Renault or Honda!

Theissen has ''no reason'' to drop Heidfeld

Mon 16 Apr, 03:57 PM

Team boss Mario Theissen dropped a big hint in Bahrein about the pending 2008 'option' on driver Nick Heidfeld's expiring BMW contract.

He insisted at Sakhir that the next driver lineup will not officially be confirmed by Hinwil based BMW-Sauber until closer to the end of the season, as has been his habit.

But after Heidfeld's drive to fourth place in Bahrein on Sunday, where he spectacularly overtook world champion Fernando Alonso, 'Sid' quoted Theissen as saying briefly: "From the perspective of Nick or BMW, at the moment there is no reason to change."

Amid rumours of the possible interest of Toyota and Honda, 29-year-old Heidfeld smiled: "If I was a boss, I would give me a contract!"

BMW's 2007 car, the F1.07, will be fitted with a new aerodynamic package for the next race, to be held Spain on 13 May. Referring to his teams's current third-place status, Theissen said: "We want to close the gap to the two teams in front of us even more. Then the world championship can be even more exciting."

Re: Bahrain GP

Meanwhile out of the spotlight.

With Formula 1 having gone home, the newspapers in the Gulf have now revealed that police foiled 70 attempts by rioters to sabotage the Grand Prix at different locations in Bahrain. The Interior Ministry has said that rioters were trying to get to the area of the circuit. The protests were organised by Internet and were sectarian in nature. The only previous reports of trouble were on Friday when afternoon when there were clashes in Manama, in the Shia suburb of Sanabis (where there was serious rioting last year). According to reports protesters hurled stones and Molotov cocktails at police who used tear gas and rubber bullets.
