They're probably just testing the next generation turbocharged engines.

The taller bonnet is usually required to provide more cooling for a turbocharged engine. Also the position of the tailpipes is different and probably complement the new engine.

I doubt they'd be testing a hybrid system. But again, the position of the tailpipes tells me that Ferrari is making sure there is sufficient room in the boot-floor for the batteries of the hybrid system. The car does not look burdened with the extra hardware and there is no modifications to the back-end of the car and the wheelbase of the car looks normal to my eyes.

The front tyres look smaller than other 612's though...........................
