That's what I used to think, but I've kind of come around to the idea. If you want an F430 Spyder but also want the performance (and more) of the coupe, then this is exactly what you're looking for.

Not to mention it also reminds you of the glory days of open top GT racers

The standard convertible is hot enough for me. But what's up with the oversized discs on the Scuderia? Those are huge.

The Carrera GT is not open top. It's structure is completely different from any normal open top car. No loss in performance.

What do you mean the Carrera is not an open top ? I am pretty sure the engineers have a few extra layers of carbon fibre at critical locations of its monocoque to stiffen the structure.
