Retromobile Will Show Two Rare Ferrari to be auctioned

The Retromobile, one of the main classic indoor events of the world, will host many attractions for classic car lovers from February 8 to 17, 2008, but two of its main attractions will certainly be a 1958 Ferrari 250GT LWB California Spyder and a 1960 Ferrari 246S Dino Sports racer that will be exposed at RM Auction’s stand. For the ones who can afford it, the good news is these cars will be auctioned in Maranello in May 18. The bad news is that their prices are not expected to be under € 2.5 million, and they can even reach € 4 million, if not more.

Truth is all rare goods tend to cost very high and these two Ferrari cars are more than rare. The Ferrari 250GT LWB California Spyder had only about 45 units built and was powered by the same V12 engine used in the250 GT Berlinetta “Tour de France”, delivering 240 hp. In 2007, a similar vehicle was auctioned by US$ 4.5 million. As for the 246S Dino, its high-revving 2.4-liter V6 engine was considered to be one of the best balanced vehicles of its time, although it was not exactly powerful. A respectful machine, doubtlessly.

In case you are fond of classic vehicles, this is one more attraction that should pay the visit to Paris and to the Retromobile, even if it is just to feast the eyes. Well, if you really think about that, what is not?
