Nevertheless the rear of the W212 reminds me a bit of the W124…but more the "corners" and the straight design, then other parts.

But maybe I will change my mind, by seeing more pics etc…

I don't really see any W124, W124's rear was a much more perfect and better looking, better emotion rear than this imo.

More photos should give a more representative perspective on how the car looks, don't worry about the bad angles.

WOW!! It looks much better than the current E-Class, much more sleeker, specially the front. The front pic of the "red" car is amazing, far away of the W211.

The AMG W212 will be something to see.

The front looks good because it's basically a Sclass with its headlights slashed in two, and no doubt the S's front is nice and agressive.

When you look at the whole design instead of picking out details the design scheme works very well!

That car is definitely an evolution of MB models of the 80's,very boxy design with wide rear lights ala the W126 S-Class

I agree with you on this completely. It's the same problem with the C class. A lot of times the gap is quite large and obvious. In dark colors it doesn't look as bad, but I agree that it's not very well incorporated. The reason they have to do this is because of the new higher hood rules, but I think they could have incorporated it better.
