| Re: New W212 E-Class Sedan & Estate Thread II (Spy pics & info) At least in French "cv", for Chevaux-Vapeur, both SL and E started with 476, then were quickly upgraded to 500 (without any face-lift), and only after that did the SL get the face-lift and thus a power increase to 525. Concerning the E63: the RS6 has 580 for now. The next M5 is rumoured to 550. Do you think AMG will be happy to offer, in two years (AMGs always come a bit later), the weakest car of the trio, maybe even with a Lexus, Cadillac and Jaguar boosting more HP? No way it would happen. Next E63 will get at least 560hp for me. AMG may not always be the most powerful, they never are the weakest. Here they will let the RS6 at the top, its insane weights cutting the power advantage, but no way they'd let the M5 be more powerful. Furthermore, the 500 V8 could have more than 400hp with DI and some updates, and that the E63 could be the last "standard" car with the 63. I don't believe AMG will let the E become the weakest. It won't happen.

| Re: New W212 E-Class Sedan & Estate Thread II (Spy pics & info) Just a side note AMG had 2 orange CLK DTM test cars.. Do you guys remember them? One of them has a 63 engine.. and it has 580hp NA So i guess the engine still has potentiall without FI PS

As for Cadillac and what they are doing they aren't too high of a concern since the number of top end performance sedans they sell on international scale is very small. So with that being said MB's focus is on the 5er and the M5. The E60 M5 is going to be around until 2011 when it will be replaced during that time it will live in harmony next to a 507-520hp E63 until it gets a revised engine in 2011 as well. | |
