Ok, ok that sounds much better. Because I wouldn't want two gaping holes in my center console. Still, I am in the group of people who like their gearshifter in the middle of the console, and not hanging below the steering wheel....that's way too American-style for me.

Impossible. The facelift of the current E class already was good for the record number of 3,000,000 km of testing, and I think this trend will continue with the new model. I don't think there will be initial problems at all. They had problems with the pre-facelifted E, and that didn't do much good to the overall image of the great Mercedes Benz.....they will make sure that doesn't happen again. Besides, this car oozes quality already, inside out.

I know! Was just kidding... Mercedes can't make any error with the E-Class, they have to restore its reputation. The car just has to be flawless.

The interior certainly seems to remind of the W124. Lot's of straight lines - CLASSIC Benz.
