I really do hope so too. I know the MB will have a much better proportion and it will look a million times better than the Toyota. However, they do share the almost identical side side window shape. I am not saying that alone will bring down the car, but I will think about it everytime I see the new E.

No way period. If the public unveiling is at Geneva, that doesn't mean the car will not be reveiled before. Like at least two months of internet and magazine exposure before people can actually see it in real life on a show. That's with all major new cars.

So in other words they'll issue the first pics/press release in January right after whatever they have planned for Detroit. Makes sense. I can't remember a time where Mercedes debuted such a core model outside of Europe.

Yes, that makes sense! Official pics, info, web-movies, configurator, etc in Januari, and then two months later, the real car in real life on a show.

Also, when they make the car official on the net, the real test cars on the street will loose all camo, and drive around with only maybe the star blacked out and 'erproberungsfarzeug' on the back

Still the same release date from what I last heard. Its going to be just like the C class, official pics scheduled for January and about six weeks for dealer training and further details and pictures and then official debut at Geneva.

I don`t get here as often as I used to and was expecting something from the new E-Class by now. We MB fans have to wait a bit longer than usual with the debut of new models. This might be from higher quality standards under control that should expected from the company.


The W211 E-Class is still the number one quality car in it`s class with the fewest problems. (now is the time to buy one)
I hope the W212 E-Class can match those fantastic standards from the start! much like the W221 S-Class has done.
