Thanks ree, even though I can't read german. What does the article say about this car, and what does the road testers say about the CGI engine compare to the normal 3.5 V6, as you know I am very very interested in it.

The testers of AMS were impressed with the car. The love the powerful engine and the comfort. The engine is more economic, then the old 3.5 engine of the E 350. You can see the chart at page three. The E 350 CGI needs about 1 litre / 100km less. At high speeds the difference of fuel consumption between both cars isn't that major. (14,5 to 14,3 litre)

The E 350 CGI is also about 1200 € more expensive then the "old" E 350. Nevertheless you get a plus of 20 hp. The E 350 CGI doesn't get a 5 star rating, because of the old Command system. AMS said, it isn't up to date anymore!

For us, the "old" E350 is fast enough for our daily needs, if only the throttle response is a bit sharper it will be perfect. 1200 € is a bit pricy but those fuel delivery system and engine modifications aren't cheap. As for the Command system being old, maybe the graphic design is looking outdated and the system can be more efficient to operate, but it has everything that its more modern competitors have.

Yes it is, if only we got the 4 zone climate control and wood trim steering, that will be perfect (basically Christian's interior combination). It is espically nice to sleep inside during the morning rush (I get a lift from parents to uni from time to time). Here is a little photo
