I like the overall styling but the dash board and the dials look very dated. But somehow I still perfer the soft and curvy interior design of the current E-class and CL. Suits MB much more than those hard and sterile BMW-ish lines.

If this is real, I like it better than I thought I would like it. Still not too hot though, but that'll probably change when we see high res real shots with all the details in the spotlights.

I can clearly see the inspiration from early 90's mercedes's interiors but at the same time, it looks exactly like the 5 series interior right from where the trim, navigation hump and also the lower center fascia, but that isn't exactly a bad thing!!

This is seriously retro with an attitude ! I like this more than their effort on the W204. I would have still prefered if the new interior philosophy was emulating the CL, but each to his own....

Wow, I`m liking it! I can see big improvements in quality with less shortcuts compared to the present one. The most surprising move is the 1987-95 W124 E-Class look to the design work (a clear Sacco influence), it`s all Mercedes-Benz. I like the bigger slab of wood in the dash! (The E has never had so much wood) but one of the greatest moves I like here is the replacement of those digital bar-graphs for the fuel and temp readouts. Thay are replaced with analogue chrome-rimed readouts which is a huge improvement for the whole instrument cluster adding timeless class. (for those complaining about the bigger piece of metal in the center air-vents I believe thats light reflection.)

Compare the W212 E to the 1987 W124 E, look center stack on the W124 where the stereo sat. The design on the newer model is exactly the same on the W212. A clear retro looking move here. This design move is going to attract MB fans and buyers alike, this is like listening to a classic rock song from one of my favorite bands thats been digitally updated with elements I`ve never herd before!





Compare that to the W211 model, you can see the attention to detail with the newer one. (take a look at those digital bar-graph readouts which I never liked in the W211 ) Mercedes should take great pride in their interior designs. Thay are the for runners of ergonomic design.

I love the W124 interior so much, and all the series of these old-school edgy interiors (and exteriors).... Here it is a bit complicated, but clearly MB; these are different interiors, fully original and unique to MB... Love it.

Back to Benz!! The Daimler-machine has re-started and is full throttle...

I know its just a small unclear picture just now, but from what I can see, its a HUGE dissappointment. I doubt Mercedes would be able to improe the interior of the current E class though. It's just so perfect. TFrom this new picture however, going for this edgy, 'modern' design that everyone seems to be going for these days just ruins the luxury look and feel you get from the current E-class interior. But I'll reserve my full judgement till we see real pics.
