Can't say that I like the latest PS. I really like the current E-Class although I think that they should give up with the 4 light design with the next E just like they did with the CL. I find Huckfeldt's interpretation of the rear annoyingly close to these two (a hybrid of the two):

Rearlights
It depends how you look at it, some people will think Mercedes copied a Hyundai or Lexus' rearlights.
I'm probably one of the few that thinks despite the resemblences to a few Korean or Japanese cars, it's more of an evolution rearlights of the previous W210 E-class model, so in my opinion it's not a copy by Mercedes.
I wonder how many will see the resemblence now.

Head lights
Again it resembles but yet again it doesn't mean Mercedes copied.
As you can see there was a evolution of 4 headlights between the W210 old E-class and the W211 current E-class, more dynamic and edgy and yet remaining the 4 headlights. Same can be expected of the W212 new E-class.
Mercedes has gone back to more angular designs in the new generations whereas in the previous generations the cars were getting more rounder and rounder.
For example the new Mercedes C-class has gone back to more angular lights as well, so it's not more than logical that the E-class gets a more angular 4 headlights design.
I agree it resembles it to a Lexus but it will be eventually different because Mercedes uses eyebrows instead of chrome surrounds and the design is more angular.
