It should also be known that the AMG sport pack previously availble on 04' through 05' models has been deleted off of the options list. A great thing I say, now E55's will look more exclusive.

probably becasue it so expensive... their options are big bucks, and not needed for every E owner....

My boss wife E-class has a better package than this. Her E350 look exactly like a real E55, even the rearpipes comes from E55. She also own a Porsche 997 Carrera. a woman with good taste

Which too me is a real sport package, i dont even know what those pics are up there, they dont change the look much at all. In fact at a quick glance looks like a stock E.

Lol they are still married. He is a Mercedes and Jaguar nut. he own mostly classics, like a Gullwing, E-types etc etc. I wouldnt be surprised if he buys the new Jaguar XK (he already own the old model , jaguar XKR).

I hate to disagree with so many Benz fans here but that AMG package that was available does nothing for the actual driving dynamics of the E-Class, and to add insult to injury it was like a 5K option. That is simply too expensive for an E-Class level car.

This new "sports package" is truly that, a sports package that actually tightens up the ride and handling of the E-Class, something it needs (for those who want it) compared to the 530i Sport, A6 3.2. Sport and Infiniti M35 Sport. Plus this new package is only like 2-3K depending on if you get it on the E350 or the E500, the latter of which already has full leather standard.

The new sports package is the package the E should have had all along, not the S-Class level AMG "appearance" package, which is what it really was. Don't get me wrong it looks gorgeous (I've seen it on a White E320 before), but it was way overpriced and not very functional for a car like the E that has to compete with nearly a half dozen other cars, many of which offer a much sportier ride/handling setup as an option. Now the E is much more competitive. I have no doubt you'll see a much higher take rate on this new package than the old AMG package.

Mercedes has done the right thing here, now the E-Class buyer has the option of having a sporting E on equal footing with the other sporty cars, without as big of a ridiculous price premium.

True, but it was only an appearance package, just like it usually is to get perfromance and such you had to get the E55 AMG for the entire ball of wax.

True this sport package has more function, but i feel they should bring the appearance with it... just looks kinda boring...

Well I think the wheels and sculpted sides are enough flash for the E. This package combines the look of the regular "Appearance Package" that is still available with the sporty hardware and different wheels. You may need to see it in person. I think you'll like it.
