The company said that the five cars, destined for unnamed "customers around the world," all have the machine-brushed steel bonnet (hood) and the hand-sanded and waxed rear teak deck. The cars, which start at $407,000, were shipped July 20. "We are now in full production to meet demand," said Ian Robertson, Rolls-Royce chairman and chief executive. The Drophead Coupe is hand-built with an aluminum spaceframe and a five-layer fabric hood. It is powered by a 6.75-liter V12 that sprints from zero to 60 mph in 5.7 seconds. Hopefully Maybach will introduce a new vehicle really soon ......they must hate Rolls-Royce right now ....although I don't think they should; Rolls-Royce is proving that the market demand for ultra-exclusive luxury cars is very healthy right now.
