  | 1959 Scaglietti Corvette 1959 Chevrolet Corvette Scaglietti Coupe  European looks with American power  Summary: This car is one of three bare 1959 Corvette chassis shipped to Scaglietti of Maranello and constructed with a special lightweight alloy body to Sergio Scaglietti's design. Three Texas-based racers, Gary Laughlin, Jim Hall and Carrol Shelby, were trying to duplicate Ferrari's lightweight construction and couple it to inexpensive Chevrolet power. Their intention was to race the cars against the Ferrari 250 Testarossas and 250 SWB Berlinettas. Scaglietti's principle customer, Enzo Ferrari, was not pleased, and the cars took more than two years to complete. Specs:

| Re: 1959 Scaglietti Corvette very niceeee reminds me of the DB5 which I adore. I remember seeing the DB5 in real life, it made my day.
