![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Corvette ZR1 hits the dyno Corvette ZR1 hits the dyno It was only a matter of time until the first dyno charts for the Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 hit the web and here they are courtesy of Pennsylvanian tuner PCM. Engineers conducted their tests using two separate cars running on a Dynojet dynamometer, with the resulting average of the two highest recordings coming in at 535hp (400kW) at the wheels. The first car was a Cyber Gray example with just 30 miles on the clock. On its first run, the car made 530hp (395kW) and 508lb-ft (688Nm) of torque at the wheels. Thinking the cars were running a bit rich from the factory, PCM made some ECU adjustments and managed a second run of 567hp (423kW) and 532lb-ft (720Nm) of torque at the wheels. The second car already had 200 miles and made 540hp (403kW) at the wheels on its first attempt. Factoring a reasonable 15% drivetrain loss, the 535hp figures puts the ZR1’s flywheel output at around 615hp (460kW) – not bad considering the official figures for the car are 638hp (476kW) and 819Nm (604lb-ft) of torque. The big question is how does it compare with one of its main rivals, the Nissan GT-R? Recent dyno tests of the Nissan showed that the Japanese supercar measured a peak output of 452hp (337kW) and 448lb-ft (606Nm) of torque at the wheels. Via: Corvette Forum
