Over a year later, Munich has finally relaunched the JCW division, which is headlined by the evolutionary new logo you see here.

The rebranding of JCW is more than an exercise in badge engineering, however. The new effort draws on the decades-long heritage that has been shared between Cooper and MINI, starting with the first MINI that F1 engineer John Cooper tuned and continuing through the resuscitation of the MINI brand by BMW to today's rapidly expanding second-gen range. Mini has introduced a new label to slap onto its John Cooper Works versions of the Mini. According to Edmund’s Inside Line, the company hopes the John Cooper Works logo will be synonymous with performance like the M division has become to BMW.
In a statement, the company said, “Consequently, John Cooper Works will in (the) future become an integral part of the Mini brand.”
They also said that Mike Cooper, son of designer John Cooper, will continue to be the bond between Mini and John Cooper Garages. The announcement comes a week after Minidecided to expand its John Cooper Works brand into a separate business.
Mini is also said it will be expanding its dealerships Stateside to 95 by 2010.
